Who We Are

Our Story of Faith & Family

Born from resilience, shaped by culture, and united in Christ — we are the New Life Church Bhutanese Nepali Community.

Our Story

A Journey Across Continents

The Bhutanese Nepali people — also known as Lhotshampa — endured decades of displacement and uncertainty. Forced from their homeland, they carried with them something no border could take away: their faith, their culture, and their community.

New Life Church was born in the heart of Omaha, Nebraska, when a small group of Bhutanese refugees began gathering in homes to pray, worship, and encourage one another. What started as a handful of families has grown into a thriving congregation of over 400 members across three generations.

Today, we are more than a church — we are a home for the displaced, a voice for the voiceless, and a community where ancient heritage meets living faith.

Our Foundation

What We Believe

Our faith is rooted in Scripture and expressed through a living relationship with God and one another.

01

The Holy Scriptures

We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of God — our ultimate authority for faith and practice in all areas of life.

02

The Trinity

We believe in one God eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — each fully God, one in essence and purpose.

03

Salvation by Grace

We believe salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone — His death and resurrection is the only path to eternal life.

04

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, who empowers believers for holy living, spiritual gifts, and bold witness.

05

The Church

We believe the church is the body of Christ — a community called to worship, grow, serve, and share the gospel with all people.

06

Christ's Return

We believe in the personal, visible return of Jesus Christ to establish His kingdom and bring all of creation to its ultimate purpose.
